Reformed

Community

Community

We are a new, independent congregation that is Reformed in our theology, which emphasizes the preeminence of Jesus Christ. We are committed to reviving the faith's biblical, historical, and traditional roots, initiated more than 500 years ago, and to the Westminster Confession of Faith as a time-tested expression of biblical faith.

Community

We are committed to making disciples of Jesus Christ (Matt. 28:18-20) in the greater Topsail area through close, meaningful relationships and the clear teaching of Scripture. As a preeminent community of believers, we come together with our children, all saved by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ, and grounded in Reformed teachings.

Church

We are called by Jesus Christ, the preeminent head of the Church, to build up His body, His bride, and His people into maturity and unity. This is achieved by accurately proclaiming the truth of God's word in love, in line with Reformed teachings.

(Ephesians 4:7-16)

What We Believe

Core Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of Reformed Community Church, grounded in the foundational truths taught in the Bible. All of our teaching and ministry, centered on Jesus Christ, is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines to the glory of the Preeminent Living God!

The Basics

God is a triunity (Trinity) of persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is infinite, holy, and love. Scripture is true and without error. Jesus Christ, the Preeminent Messiah, Savior, and Lord, offers salvation as a gift of God to those who believe. The Holy Spirit acts as our divine Comforter, Convictor, and Transformer. The Church represents the community of Reformed believers.

How We Do Church

Our church government is representative, with leaders who are elders dedicated to pastoring God’s people in the name of Jesus Christ. We uphold two sacraments: baptism, which includes both infant and believer’s baptism, and the Lord’s Supper. As an independent church, we stand firm in our Reformed beliefs and belong to no denomination, emphasizing the preeminent authority of Scripture.

How We Do Worship

Worship is the most important thing we do as we seek to glorify Jesus Christ. Our worship, which is preeminent in our gatherings, consists of the Word of God read, preached, sung, prayed, and displayed in the sacraments. We read systematically and preach expositorily through books of the Bible, ensuring that our focus remains on Jesus Christ. We sing songs and hymns rooted in God’s word, affirming our Reformed commitment to biblical truth. Additionally, we are dedicated to a full diet of biblical prayer, including praise, confession, thanksgiving, and intercession. Our gatherings for worship take place on the Lord’s Day, during which we administer the Lord’s Supper weekly.
